The Filling Homes Auxiliary’s Festival of Tables Luncheon, attended by 194 people, was held on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at 12:00 noon in the Filling Therapy Center Activity Room. Co-Chairs of the Luncheon were Merna Homier and Kathleen Wiemken who have been coordinating this event for 12 years. Twenty four tables were decorated by 20 hostesses, including one by Filling Home resident, Kathy Ward. Since Kathy’s loves anything “Elvis,” she used numerous items from her room to decorate the table where she presided as hostess.

The Program consisted of a Welcome, Table Prayer, Lunch, Introduction of the Hostesses, words from Filling Home’s Public Relations Director, The Rev. Jerry Rayl, a comedy routine by Edith Crapper, the awarding of door prizes, and a Closing.

Luncheon profits of $1995.00 were given to the Filling Homes’ Adaptive Equipment/Personal Assistance Fund for various residents’ needs. Special thanks for the success of this event is given to the following organizations and individuals: St. Paul Lutheran Church Women, Napoleon Township, for providing the meal, Nancy Arps for printing the letters and programs, the many hostesses for their talents and efforts in decorating the tables, as well as all those who attended the luncheon and thereby provided financial support for certain of Filling’s residents.
Next year’s luncheon is scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2011. Mark your calendars now and plan to attend.
